In the free Mario Kart Tour, one character sells for $ 50

Did you think that subscribing to a single mode in the Mario Kart Tour mobile game is the highlight of everything? Now Nintendo has started charging for characters as much as some games.

Mario Kart Tour for Android and iOS devices has become the fastest downloaded Nintendo game on mobile platforms in the last 15 days. At the same speed, users found that the fastest mode in the game was locked behind a monthly subscription (although it did have a week of trial), but that ultimately didn't hurt the game itself. However, if you thought Nintendo would fit in, you were fooled.

This week, the Mario Kart Tour received an update with a new track in Tokyo, and two convenience packages have arrived at the game store: the Rosalina Pack and the Diddy Kong Pack. These packages are available temporarily, and in addition to the title characters, they bring a package of rubies (virtual, of course) and two types of tickets. There would be no dispute about this, however, this is a mobile game, if the prices of these packages are not crazy. The Rosaline character thus unlocks for around $ 25, while Diddy Kong costs a whopping $ 50.

By comparison, for that money you can buy Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with 42 playable characters for some discount. Of course, the player doesn't have to spend that money, it's all optional, but the strategy is clearly visible. The real “reward” in that package is not really the famous Nintendo character, but the 90 diamonds that are the premium currency of this game. 93 pieces of rubies cost $ 50 in free sale, so Diddy Kong has fallen victim to greedy tactics.
