Electronic Arts and Steam Announce Partnership, EA Access Subscription Comes to Steam!
Electronic Arts publishing games are really back on Steam. Not only that, they also bring with them access to Steam.
Recently, rumors have emerged that Electronic Arts games are returning to the Steam platform after eight years. We have just received confirmation that this is true and that the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will also be available on Steam on release day. He will be followed later by other recent Electronic Arts catalog games such as Apex Legends, Battlefield V, FIFA 20, The Sims 4 and Unravel 2.
Not only that - on Steam comes the EA Access subscription service, with which you can get access to the game catalog for a tiny bit of money. However, notice that the subscription is called EA Access, not Origin Access, which means it's not the same thing, and therefore it's not the same game offering.
There's also a catch with EA games coming out on Steam. That is, if you already have them on Origin, it does not mean that you will be able to automatically switch them to Steam. For example, if you purchased Battlefield 5 on Origin, to play it via Steam you will need to buy it again.
The cheerful part of the information is that the games will have a shared player base, meaning that cross-play will be enabled so anyone who plays Fifa 20 on Origin will be able to play the game with whoever plays it on Steam.
