New World Record - Completed GTA: San Andreas in less than 26 minutes

A new GTA: San Andreas high-speed record has been set, taking as much as three hours off the previous fastest crossing.

The legendary GTA: San Andreas has about a hundred missions and so far the fastest crossing of the game has been three hours, 52 minutes and seven seconds, set this year. Two months ago, the Serbian speedrunner, nicknamed Andra, approached this with a 4h 10m and 3 seconds transition, but the real revelation came this week - San Andreas crossed in less than 26 minutes! More specifically: 25 minutes and 52 seconds.

Of course, the standard way is that it is physically impossible. The new world record is very specific in that it uses a glitch that is only present in one version of the game - the PC version from the Windows Store. Powdinet's Speedrunner did the trick of making the game skip a good part of the missions and launching them immediately on a mission of their choice, or the very end of the game.

You will say that this cheating is not a real transition, but in order to do this at all, you have a lot of things to do and you need to be extremely quick at the turn of the game. Plus, you have to follow a crazy strict set of rules. The full list of things to do to activate this trick can be found on Reddit, and you can check out the transition in the following screenshot (the demo of the trick is from 15:55)

If you are wondering how it is possible that someone came up with this crazy trick, the thing is related to a script used in Vice City (which shares the same engine with San Andreas), where it shortened the game's transition to eight minutes.
