The Epic Games Store is gearing up for Halloween and brings two thematically appropriate experiences in the form of psychedelic horror and a mysterious thriller imbued with black humor.
Epic Games continues to share games for free through its digital store. This time around, he decided to thematically align himself with the upcoming Halloween and offer two very different games. One is a two-year-old Observer game, but the other is seven-year-old Alan Wake: American Nightmare.
Like most of the games that Epic shares for free, these two games are also very well rated, costing 35 euros together in free sales. They are definitely worth a try, and you can add them to your library by 10/24.
The Observer is a slightly slower game that invades the realm of psychological horror into a dystopian, futuristic version of Poland's capital. The player controls a detective investigating a mysterious murder using advanced technology. It has everything from scanning the environment with electromagnetic and bio-views, testing suspects, hacking terminals and people and the like. The game boasts a great atmosphere, and explores the very relevant theme of humanity's growing dependence on technology.
Alan Wake: American Nightmare is a kind of spin-off of the famous Alan Wake game and is a slightly less dark game. Players still control our favorite writer, but this time in a story that is less a psychological thriller and more a black comedy. It is a short and sweet experience with far more perforating the forces of darkness and less complacent narratives.
