Bethesda is making a deeper impact on the mobile gaming market by buying a new studio

Bethesda is moving away from the player base that has led them to the forefront of the gaming industry after the Fallout 76 fiasco.

The mobile gaming market is a lucrative business, so it's no surprise that many publishers are turning to eternal hunting for higher profits. One of them is Bethesda, whose three mobile games are; Fallout: Shelter, The Elder Scrolls Legends and The Elder Scrolls Blades are extremely successful. It is not surprising, therefore, that the publisher is investing in this particular segment of the gaming market by purchasing a new mobile gaming studio.

Specifically, it is a Canadian Alpha Dog Games studio credited with mobile games such as the action RPG Wraithborne and the strategic MonstroCity: Rampage. Bethesda only briefly stated that they have big plans to expand their mobile game offering for iOS and Android. As a reason to buy Alpha Dog, they cite their commitment to the quality and depth of the mobile gaming experience.

The details and the purchases themselves have not been made public, but there is a good chance Alpha Dog will become part of the Bethesda Montreal subsidiary. It is recalled that it was established back in 2015 precisely with the aim of expanding into, among other things, the mobile market. It remains to be seen how old Bethesda fans will respond to the studio's greater focus on mobile games. Let's hope the above doesn't affect the development of Bethesda's "big" titles, and that another Blizzard situation awaits us.
