And popular streamer Shroud has moved to Mixer
Another notable streamer is leaving Twitch to receive Microsoft bonuses on its competitive Mixer platform.
Microsoft has made another major transfer to the streaming scene. Once the popular Ninja has moved to the Mixer platform from Twitch, now another celebrated streamer has made it - Shroud. Real name Michael Grzesiek, Shroud was the second most popular streamer on Twitch so far with six and a half million followers.
By switching to Mixer, Shroud instantly attracted tens of thousands of followers, but it remains to be seen whether it will gain the same popularity on that platform as it had on Twitch. It is even more interesting to see the results of Microsoft's strategy of attracting audiences to Mixer, because for the time being there has been no success - even though they hired Ninja, Mixer did not see an increase in viewership in the third quarter of 2019. It even dropped.
But this is just the beginning of the strategy, and we suspect that Shroud is Microsoft's latest acquisition.
