Electronic Arts is planning more remakes of old games with Command & Conquer
Electronic Arts editorial staff has confirmed that it will give the green light for several remaster projects from beloved franchises in the future.
Over the last ten years, it has become very popular in the video game industry to make remakes and remakes of old games. For some it was an attempt to make a quick profit, and for some it was an excuse to return to their favorite games. A number of publishers have remastered their catalogs of old games, but one company was unusually restrained. While fans called out the remastered Mass Effect and Dead Space series, Electronic Arts remained uninterested in such a thing.
However, the situation has changed in them too. They launched the remake of Burnout Paradise, and after last year's mobile command & conquer fiasco they announced that they were doing a C&C remaster for PC. Now they have revealed that by the third month of 2021, they will be launching a few more remakes from the "beloved franchise". It is not said exactly which ones, but it is possible that these are abandoned series such as SimCity, Crysis, Medal of Honor, Wing Commander and others.
Certainly, some will say that remasers are the only ones left when they are unable to make fair sequels for those games. But one should not expect EA to fully switch to nostalgia in the future as five of their studios are working on new games, one of which is a brand new IP.
