Ubisoft's stock has fallen nearly 30% due to the failure of Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Ubisoft's president tried to explain what went wrong with Ghost Recon Breakpoint, or more specifically, his sales results.

Yesterday, Ubisoft's investor report not only resulted in the postponement of a handful of games, but also resulted in a decline in the value of the shares of the French company. Today, Ubisoft's shares are worth up to 29% less than yesterday. It cannot be said that this is the fault of the failure of their last game, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, but everything has to do with it.

Namely, Ubisoft's president acknowledged to investors that the poor sales of the game, thanks primarily to negative criticism from players, forced the company to delay the release of other projects so that such things would no longer happen. As a result, Ubisoft lowered its profit forecasts over the next year, and the chain reaction also saw a decline in the company's value.

Somewhat expected, but interesting throughout the story is how Ubisoft explains the reason for the failure for Ghost Recon Breakpoint. For starters, it was decided that "live multiplayer games" needed more space in the outs - Wildlands came out two years before Breakpoint, but it wasn't until a year later that it actually became the better quality game players actually wanted to play, and then Breakpoint came too fast .

Furthermore, at Ubisoft, they found that innovation does not have to come at every game at any cost, but new things need to be implemented well. And finally, they realized that Ghost Recon Breakpoint didn't have enough factors to differentiate it from other Ubisoft games.

So, they realized some basic steps errors - now they will probably be applied to future games.
