We have to wait another year until Werewolf: The Apocalypse replaces Skyrim as the only solid game where we can play werewolf.
Vampires smile happily in their coffins because they are much more prominent in the video game world than werewolves. It is clear that there is not too much love for big hairs and they can only be played in Elder Scrolls games like Skyrim. But that looks set to change next year thanks to the game name Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood.
The game is based on, and will be housed within, the World of Darkness universe known for pen-and-paper RPG games. The story will be followed by a werewolf named Cahal who will fight the vampire corporation Pentex. As with pen-and-paper games, Earthblood will tackle more mature topics such as disrupting natural balance by pollution.
From a gameplay perspective, Earthblood will be an action RPG game where, as Cahal, we wander the great open areas of the American Northwest. There, we will perform various missions using Cahal's human form to interact with NPCs, a wolf form to sneak and spy on, while transforming into werewolves when it's time to fight. Anger will be one of the gameplay mechanics, and Cahal will have to keep it under control in order to become a wild beast that does not make friends out of the enemy.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood arrives on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in the second or third half of next year. For a dose of warmth, be sure to check out the official trailer:
