Rainbow Six Siege and For Honor should receive a crossplay option soon

Ubisoft's president confirmed that the company is keen to include a crossplay option in its multiplayer titles.

The less audible news of Ubisoft's financial report could cheer some players up. Namely, the president of the French company announced that in the future they will continue what they started with their game Brawlhalla, which is work on introducing the option of cross-platform playing or crossplay. The plan is to allow cross-play in the future for all Ubisoft PvP games, and it seems that Rainbow Six Siege and For Honor will have a high priority, as those games have the most audiences.

It remains unclear whether Ubisoft will work to enable crossplay for PvE games, which would also help titles such as The Division, Ghost Recon and others. In any case, the merger of players into one community is only now under way, as Sony recently opened the door to full crossplay on the PlayStation 4 platform. Before that, it didn't really make sense to merge PC players and console players.

Enabling crossplay will also be important in the transition to the next generation of consoles. It has already been confirmed that Rainbow Six Siege will be playable on PlayStation 5 as well, and for a game played by millions of players, it doesn't make sense for the community to split by moving some players to new consoles.
