Sony is left without the man who oversaw the development of the most successful PlayStation 4 exclusive

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced yesterday that the company was being abandoned by Shawn Layden, the man who oversaw the work of all Sony video game studios.

Another leader has left Sony Interactive Entertainment. After Andrew House, Shawn Layden, former president of the US branch of CEE and president of Sony Worldwide Studios, also leaves the company. Layden remains remembered as the guy who led Sony's E3 conferences from 2014 to 2018, at a time when PlayStation was extremely dominant in the market. Successful "bossing" continued in 2018, focusing solely on games, during which time PS4 hits such as Spider-Man and God of War were launched.

Although the forecast for the PlayStation platform is quite favorable, Layden has decided to look for a new challenge in his career. It has not yet been announced who will succeed him, but whoever is in the position will need to fill a rather large hole. At Sony, they thanked Layden for more than 30 years working at the company and acknowledged that they would miss his visionary leadership.
