Several modders have made a perverse mode for Red Dead Redemption 2, and Take-Two Interactive is not happy about it.
Rockstar has had major problems in the past, as they have left some of the code for an interactive sexual communication mini-game in GTA: San Andreas. With the advent of the PC version, the modders made it possible to play this mini-game through the so-called Hot Coffee mode, and under the same name, a modification for Red Dead Redemption 2 was recently released.
The modification in the single-player section of the game thus enables the main character in the salon to engage the prostitute's services, and their activities are animated and accompanied by sound. There is no nudity, and the mode uses all the animations and sounds that are already present in the game. For example, the animations used are from a mission where Arthur gets drunk with Lenny.
However, it is questionable how long Hot Coffee Mode will last, as Rockstara's parent company Take-Two Interactive has already sent a request to the fashion authors to remove it. In their view, the existence of such a mode violates a number of rules regarding the use of the game. No matter that there is no nudity in the whole story.
The fashion authors have not removed it yet and say that they do not intend to do so, they only complained that it is a bit hypocritical that Rockstar may include prostitutes in their games, but when someone makes a mode related to them then it is viewed as unacceptable content. Still, the Take-Two Interactive team is easy to understand in this case because they have previous experience with this kind of thing. The situation with San Andreas was a little different, but you know how it goes - who gets burned, smoked and out in the cold.
