The fate of Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer has been clarified

The CD Projekt RED CD will follow Rockstar's example with the multiplayer component of Cyberpunk 2077, which means that social play will not be available immediately after the game is released.

The multiplayer component for Cyberpunk 2077 has not been officially confirmed so far, but we were told from CD Projekt RED that they are exploring how to incorporate multiplayer into the game. However, now it's official - Cyberpunk 2077 will have some form of multiplayer that will be completely separate from the single-player campaign. However, this component will not be available immediately after the game's release in the fourth month of 2020.

Instead, Cyberpunk 2077 will receive its multiplayer only after CD Projekt has completed additional content for the single-player portion of the game. It is not known how long it will take for this, but it is easily possible that Cyberpunk multiplayer will only be available from 2021. The reason for this is the fact that CD Projekt has just started hiring people to create multiplayer.

It is assumed that the multiplayer component will be free of charge to all game owners, as in the case of GTA 5 and RDR 2, for example, but that part has not yet been officially confirmed.
