Pokémon GO again became the highest-grossing mobile game last month

If you thought the trend of playing Pokemon on your cell phone was long gone, you are nowhere near the real truth.

Pokémon GO has a very successful month behind it. The game has returned to the forefront of the most profitable mobile games, with players having invested the largest amount of money since launching three years ago. Pokemon earned $ 176 million in the eighth month, SuperData reports.

The biggest reason for the player's return was the arrival of new content. Tim Rocket finally appeared in the game, whose challenges were the first major addition to Pokémon GO this year. Of course, summertime certainly played a big part in increasing the number of players, since summer is the perfect time to look for Pokemon.

It will be interesting to see if the game will keep earnings and players growing for the ninth month as another significant addition was launched last week, with the fifth generation of Pokemon appearing in the game.

As much as this is a success for the Niantic development team, so is the failure of their other game - Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. Although these are similar games, Harry Potter has so far failed to attract as close to an audience as Pokemon.
