There is a tiny PlayStation in Japan that doesn't run games

Bandai toy maker will launch several miniature models of old consoles next year, including the first PlayStation.

The original PlayStation first got its smaller release in the PS One console, and dropped even further last year with the PlayStation Classic. It will get even smaller next year, but it won't launch games in that miniature edition. Specifically, the Bandai toy manufacturer is working on a 2: 5 ratio of old consoles and will launch them in the Japanese market in early 2020.

This alone would not be interesting if it were just a plain plastic box with a controller. However, this "toy" is designed in a layered fashion and reckons the user will break it apart. When it is disassembled, this little PlayStation shows a simpler version of its interior but still a very authentic representation of how complex the Sony console is, along with the controller.

In addition to the PlayStation, Bandai will do the same for the Sega Saturn console. None of these toys are likely to come to us, but who knows, maybe one of you in Japan has an uncle called Kamata, so buy something like this ... and then put a Raspberry Pi 10 in the case of that little console in five years and run real games… Anything is possible.
