Total War brings us a Trojan horse, Total War Saga: TROY has been announced

A new chapter of the Total War series will deal with the events of the Trojan War without romanticizing historical facts too much.

It has been known for over a month that the Trojan War will be the main topic of a new game from Total War Sage, and now that is finally confirmed. The Bulgarian branch of the Creative Assembly is preparing us for a strategic adaptation of the Iliad, that is, the 13th century BC conflict. If you didn't read that epic for proofreading, you might have watched the movie with Brad Pitt, so you know what the story is about. But this does not mean that there will also be a major Trojan horse-shaped scam in the game.

Specifically, Total War Saga: Troy will be a mix of myth and real history. For example, we will see a Minotaur in the game, but he will not be a monster but a huge fighter carrying a bull's skull on his head. Achilles will also be present in the game, as one of the heroic leaders, seemingly indestructible on the battlefield, but problematic when trying to solve things through diplomacy.

The Greek gods will not interfere in battle, but your troops will have certain benefits and bonuses if you convince them that the gods are on your side. And you can convince them through various rituals, for example by sacrificing resources (food, wood, stone, bronze or gold). Each deity will have its own benefits that will come in handy in fighting the enemy.

Players will be able to control one of a total of eight factions that are divided into two sides: the Greek and the Trojan. Given the era in which the game is taking place, in TWS: Troy the focus will not be on the cavalry but on the infantry, so these units will have many different types.

In the battles, terrain that will affect the speed of movement of units and visibility will also be important now. Muddy terrain, for example, will slow down heavily armored units, and high grass areas will allow units to hide and attack an enemy from ambush.

Total War Saga: Troy does not have a release date yet, but it is certain that we will not play the game this year at the earliest during 2020.
