Take-Two is still counting on the Mafia series, remakes may be coming
Last month, Take-Two Interactive re-branded the Mafia and Mafia 2 game titles.
The Mafia game series has fallen into oblivion after a disappointing third installment. But it seems that Take-Two Interactive is not planning to put the Mafia "in the attic" so soon. Specifically, it was noted last week that they renewed the trademark and logo for the first two games, which immediately triggered rumors of a possible remaster.
And while it might make sense for the first two Mafia games to appear on current platforms, no new releases are mentioned in the submissions. Therefore, it may be a standard trademark restoration procedure, but this is usually done every ten years, so there may be other plans.
In any case, this at least gives us a clue that we're not done with the Mafia yet. Who knows - maybe the first two games also get their cell phone releases?
