Gears 5 is the most successful game in this generation of Xboxes, more popular than Fortnite
Microsoft boasted record results for its Xbox-exclusive Gears 5, which was more popular than Fortnite last week.
The Gears (of War) series has a week to remember. Specifically, the new Gears 5 became the first game on the Xbox to knock Fortnite out of the first place of the platform's most played games. But it's not the only significant success of that game. At the same time, Gears 5 became the most played Xbox exclusive of this generation in its first week. It was played by twice as many players as Gears of War 4 on the Xbox One console, or three times as many players on the PC platform.
The Steam version alone did not record some major successes, but the reason for that probably lies in the premature offering of the Xbox Game Pass service. Specifically, Gears 5 is the largest game to date launched on Game Pass. On PC, a one-month subscription to Game Pass costs less than $ 40, so it's almost unbelievable that a title like this can be played for up to a month for such a small amount.
