GRID boasted a convincing camera from the cabin

The Codemasters team says our heart will accelerate when we play the new GRID, potentially because of a camera inside the vehicle.

The fresh trailer for the upcoming GRID racing game gives us a cross-section of everything that will come to us in mainstream career mode. There's everything from high-end vehicles to breaking old bins. But what caught our eye in this trailer is the first view of the cockpit camera, that is, inside the vehicle. That is, at least * I think * that this is the first time we see this in the new GRID.

Specifically, previous games in the GRID series have a controversial history with this camera. The first Race Driver GRID had a great cockpit camera and I remember it was a real pleasure to drive from that perspective. But Codemasters dropped that camera in GRID 2, claiming that very few players use it anyway. However, that was not the reason as they were probably trying to save money from licensing interiors for vehicles. At GRID Autosport, they returned the camera from the cockpit, but darkened the cabin and blurred it so that the player could see nothing but the road.

Fortunately, the true view from the cabin is back with this year's Grid, in a very detailed release. So we'll see the speedometer, the driver's hands, the rearview mirror, etc.
