Research has shown that PUBG can be played on significantly more mobile phones than Fortnite

A report by Newzoo claims that PUBG can play on 750 million Android mobile phones more than competing Fortnite.

With the launch of the PUBG Mobile Lite Edition in underdeveloped markets, PUBG got a new wind in the back this summer in the fight against Fortnite. Specifically, the Lite version of the mobile version has fewer requirements than the standard version - less than 1GB of working memory and less than 600 MB of storage. As a result, PUBG became available for more devices and immediately resulted in 60 million downloads, most in India and Brazil.

With the Mobile Lite version, PUBG has thus covered 98% of the available market, Newzoo reports, up 38.7% from its rival Fortnite. This brought to light the opposite strategy that Epic Games practices for Fortnite. Unlike PUBG, this game is focused on developed, western markets.

This also explains the fact that Fortnite is more hardware-hungry, although it is interesting to many that the biggest obstacle to playing the Fortnite mobile version is not the hardware itself, but the software - Android 8.0 and iOS11. In this regard, even standard PUBG Mobile is much less demanding and can be played on Android 5.1.1 as well.
