In Nintendo they're crazy - a new Mario Kart game is looking for a one-race subscription

The Mario Kart Tour has brought one very unusual thing to the gaming world - subscribing to a single mode.

Mario Kart Tour as of today can be downloaded on Android and iOS devices. This is a significant event because it has never happened before that a single game of the Mario Kart series was available for legal play outside the Nintendo ecosystem, that is, the Nintendo consoles. However, Nintendo somehow managed to spoil this merry moment by going one step further with its tactics of grabbing players' money.

Specifically, the Mario Kart Tour has a non-optional subscription. But not a subscription to play the game itself, but a subscription to play the 200cc racing category, or the fastest racing game in the game. The subscription is $ 5 a month. So, one game subscription… one game… five dollars a month.

How crazy the offer is is that Google and Apple recently launched their subscription services at the same price, but Google offers five subscriber access to 350 apps and Apple's 100 exclusive games for five dollars. Once again, lest the shame be forgotten: Nintendo offers access to one single-game mode for five dollars a month.

Player reactions were expected and with the 29,000 reviews that day, Mario Kart Tour became the worst rated Nintendo game on Android.
