Half-Life 2 received a new update, fixed a five-year-old problem
You wouldn't believe it, but Valve is still rolling out fixes for the ancient Half-Life 2. The last of these helped the characters to blink again.
Half-Life 2 and other related games got an update yesterday after a very long time. What's going on - isn't it that Valve is preparing for the announcement of part three ?!
No worries - of course nothing supernatural is happening. Valve only corrected a problem that has been present in Half-Life games since 2014, for some reason. Specifically, most of the characters in Half-Life 2 and the accompanying expansions have since stopped flashing. However mysterious the event was, it all worked out and the characters blinked five years later, thank God.
Valve was quite late with this repair because the player community had fixed it a long time ago. But it is official yet official, and it also provides material for thought. Someone in Valve is still worried about Half-Life after all these years ... If it took them five years to fix this problem, then it's no wonder we've been waiting for Part Three for two billion years.
