The two new games now have the cross-platform multiplayer feature fully enabled

The list of games with the option to play multiplayer between different platforms is growing after Paladins and Spacelords enrolled.

Many agree that cross-play is the future of online gaming, but the present of playing the same games together on different consoles is still limited. Only a handful of games have so far been able to connect players across all available platforms, and above all we think of the PlayStation 4 owners, because that platform is the most closed. Full cross-play was only realized in games such as Fortnite, Rocket League, Dauntless and some others.

Fortunately, more and more games are opening the door to multiplayer without borders. This fall, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be the first high-budget game with a supported cross-play option for three major platforms, and as of yesterday, two more games can be played in full cross-play. These are Paladins and Spacelords shooters, both free to play.

Spacelords cross-play support has been running for a year and is complete for all platforms (PC, PS4, XBO). Paladins is a little specific here - it has cross-play, but that doesn't include the ability for players on the PlayStation 4 to continue playing the game on other platforms with the same account.

In the near future, by the end of 2019, two more games will follow these examples. Support for cross-play on the PS4 platform will also receive Realm Royale and Smite.
