Unheard of: Fans of Assassin’s Creed think Ubisoft is recycling its games

The appearance of one character in the new Assassin’s Creed game has prompted fans of the series to discuss recycling models and materials in Ubisoft games.

Up left is Kassandra, the heroine of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey - you probably already know her. To the left is Randi, a member of the Vikings in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The two are not related and are separated by several centuries, but for some reason the women wear identical hairstyles, which bothered some fans, so on Twitter and Reddit they accuse the Ubisoft Montreal team of laziness.

Ubisoft did not comment on the accusations of "copy-paste Kassandra", but some fans defended it, claiming that it was possible that the similarity was not accidental but intentional and that Kassandra may have reincarnated in the Viking era. Which wouldn’t actually be weird because after all, it’s a series where nothing is true and everything is allowed.

But chances are this is neither the first nor the last time the Ubisoft team has used the materials and models they have used in previous games. In fact, it’s not at all strange that recycling happens within the same series when we’ve seen several different Ubisoft series borrow ideas from each other.
