Someone made a portable PlayStation 2 console

The user, nicknamed Darkwing Mod, has completed his long-standing project and made a fully functional PlayStation 2 console in portable form.

We have seen portable PlayStation consoles in numerous editions, both official and unofficial. It's not a novelty when someone launches PlayStation 2 games in handheld mode, anything can be accomplished by emulation today, but it's worth paying attention to when one of the PlayStation 2 builds a Switch. And that is exactly what the user of the nickname Darkwingmod managed to do.

He recently boasted that he has finally completed his long-standing project - a portable, non-emulation PlayStation 2 console. How is this possible if games on the PlayStation 2 are played via DVD? Well, the thing here is that games load from the SMB server on the Ethernet network and stream to the console. The console also has an external memory card that can save game progress so that the user can switch from portable mode to playing on TV.

The battery of this console is capable of withstanding an hour and a half of gameplay, and can be charged using the standard PS2 console power cable.
