Call of Duty: Modern Warfare already has a launch trailer, two and a half weeks before the game's release.
It is customary in the video game industry for new games to get what is called the "Launch Trailer" before its release. This flyer is actually intended for anyone who already knows the game and is ultimately less important than a TV commercial. That's why, in the case of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, not a particularly impressive trailer was assembled, it was just a montage of explosions and quotes from the media.
It doesn't bother me, in life, in the least. But I'm bothered by the insinuation that this trailer has anything to do with gameplay. Namely, the title of the video is "Launch Gameplay Trailer", which is pure debut, and this was noticed by the users themselves who commented on this promotion of the game. "Gameplay trailer - shows cutscenes" - summed up the situation by one of the commentators.
Ok, aside from that nonsense, the trailer is also an image and an opportunity to take the statements out of context. "New milestone" - says the Digital Foundry team (for the technical side of the game, not the game itself, but it matters less). "The seismic change the industry rarely sees," Forbes says, referring to the cross-play option and just that change and no other. But hey, they said that - who cares about the wider context anyway?
