Sony has revealed when the PlayStation 5 comes out and what the new controller brings

Sony has retransmitted even more information about the PlayStation 5 via the Wired portal - including that it will indeed be called the PlayStation 5.

We have new news on PlayStation 5 and now it's official: it won't be called PlayStation V, it won't be called PlayStation Fifth Element, it won't be called PlayStation Mouse. It will be called PlayStation 5.

That's it. And now that it's been clarified, it's time to go out. It won't be out in… let's go shorter - it is coming for the holidays of 2020. So, what was supposed: in the fall of next year.

Furthermore, it has been confirmed that the PS5 will have support for ray-tracing effects at the hardware level rather than via some software trick. As we already knew, games will continue to come on optical discs, and it has now been confirmed that 100GB of Blu-ray media will be used. It has also been confirmed that the PlayStation 5 optical disc reader will also be able to play 4K Blu-ray movies.

Installing games on an SSD will be mandatory in all cases, but the user will have more freedom to do so. For example, they will be able to choose whether to install a single-player campaign, only multiplayer, or both.

Although the console is likely to support earlier DualShock controllers, a completely new controller model will be coming with the PlayStation 5. One of the new features that will be introduced with this controller is customizable triggers. This means that the R2 / L2 keys will now have different types of resistance - for example, when you use the bow and arrow in the game, the more you strain the bow, the harder it will be to press the trigger button.

Vibration will also be performed on the controller with more possibilities, for example the vibration of only one side of the controller may be used. The speaker on the controller also returns, with better sound quality and a wider range of different effects.
