Steam will soon allow you to play games with friends who do not have those games

The good news is for everyone who lives beyond their friends who would play games in local multiplayer with them.

Steam will receive a new feature called Remote Play Together starting October 21, which will bring some joy to the world of cooperative gaming. You know, those games that have only the option of local co-op mode, that is, one that you can't play with other players online but only on the same couch, on the same screen? It is these Steam games that will get the solution that will partially make local multiplayer an online multiplayer.

Namely, the Remote Play Together option will work by allowing one player to stream the game to another player, allowing them both to play together on different devices, no matter how far away you are. To make things better, another player doesn't even have to have the same game in the collection, but the main player "lends" the game to him through streaming.

Of course, this will still depend on how good the internet connection the players have. Given that some games, such as Rayman Legends and Origins, are not designed for online multiplayer just because of the lag, a good portion of them will not be playable. However, the other part of the games, those slightly slower like LEGO titles, will probably be able to play this way without much difficulty.

Display quality will be limited to 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second. Valve promises that all games with local multiplayer will be supported, including those running in split-screen mode.
