Call of Duty: Mobile has been downloaded 20 million times already
Mobile Call of Duty attracted about 20 million players in its first week, but not from markets where Call of Duty typically profits.
Call of Duty: Mobile is less than four days out and has already been played by about 20 million players in that period. More specifically, the game has been downloaded more than 20 million times. Although this is a free game, Sensor Tower estimates that players spent about $ 2 million on microtransactions in three days.
It would be interesting to see in which countries players spend the most on microtransactions, as mobile CoD is not the most popular in the US and European markets. Most players, 14%, come from India. This makes sense because free-to-play games are usually more attractive to players who otherwise cannot afford premium games or have no access to them at all.
It would also be interesting to see how many players chose to continue playing Call of Duty: Mobile. The launch of the game did not go smoothly, but experts at Sensor Tower say that it is not relevant today but it is much more important for a mobile game to have a well-developed monetization system that continuously keeps the player interested.
