The films The Batman and Dune postponed for a full year, only Matrix 4 goes faster in the future

The coronavirus pandemic has a devastating impact on the film industry, so film studies are delaying the release of big movie hits.

While the video game industry is functioning surprisingly well during a pandemic, and is making more money than ever before, the film industry is in disarray. The best example of this is the recent summer hit Tenet, which was extremely expensive to shoot, and due to the relatively low response of viewers to the cinema, the film failed to make a profit even two months later.

Thanks to the example of Tenet, more and more studios are postponing the premieres of their films for some better times. Recently, the 25th James Bond film was postponed to the spring of 2021, and now the postponement has hit the most anticipated film of the year - Dune, directed by Dennis Villeneuve. Instead of December 18 this year, Dune will go to the cinema only on October 1, 2021.

Warner Bros. has confirmed an avalanche of other delays after Dune. Among them is The Batman, which was scheduled just for the day Dune is now arriving. New Batman adventures will thus have to wait until 2022. The films The Flash and Shazam 2 will also be delayed.

But there is an exception. Matrix 4 has not moved into some distant future but quite the opposite - it will come before it was announced. Instead of 2022, Matrix 4 will hit theaters on December 22, 2021. If not all theaters fail by then, all movie screenings will move to Fortnite.
