Kojima Productions has hired Scottish band Chvrches for their upcoming Death Stranding to record their final song.
Hideo Kojima most often uses a combination of original compositions and licensed music in his games. His music tastes quite colorful, so he used music from many unknown musicians, such as Low Road and Silent Poets, in Death Stranding trailers, and pulled Apocalyptica out of naphthalene. These were the songs he conveniently chose to play, but there will be songs specifically created for Death Stranding only.
The first of these, called Death Stranding, is performed by the Scottish synth-pop band Chvrches, and the song is premiered to the public today. Before you listen to it, we need to remind you that this is a song that you will play at the very end of Death Stranding. Therefore, if you're trying to analyze her lyrics, you might spoil the game itself ... but you won't know it until you're done.
Plus, Kojima says you might cry while listening to the song. And that you will eventually discover the true value in the band's connection to the game. Or something - it's hard to interpret, the guy has been having trouble translating to English lately.
