Free Destiny 2 played over 200,000 players on PC yesterday, then crashed servers
Destiny 2 is free since yesterday, and it's no wonder that many want to play it now. In the end, there were so many server crashes.
I will touch on the things mentioned in the title, but first of all, take this news as a reminder that you can now download Destiny 2: New Light from Steam for free, which is a new and big thing that is only valid from yesterday.
Basically, as far as numbers go. After becoming free, Destiny 2 has taken down at least 200,000 thousands of players, because just as many have played that title at one time. More specifically, it was noted on Steam that 219,997 players played the game at one time. This made Destiny 2 the third most played game on Steam, two years after launching on other platforms.
And then the servers crashed.
The game is still downloading so I can't tell you if it has changed. The problem occurred sometime in the night, but as far as I can see it should be corrected now.
