Nintendo will not be adding new NES and SNES games to its online service every month
Nintendo practices "one good - one bad news" and brings us SNES games, but reduces the intensity with which they will give them to us as part of the Switch Online service.
Behind us is another Nintendo Direct where we got some interesting information. In addition to the details of the new upcoming games, we also learned that some of the old ones are coming to Switch. In addition to various ports and games from the recent past, Super Nintendo games are finally coming to Nintendo Switch Online.
Unfortunately, this cheerful news has diminished the information that new NES and SNES games will not be released on a monthly basis. Instead, Nintendo will release them as part of the service on an irregular schedule. In translation, it may take months before Nintendo offers subscribers anything new.
Given that the extremely slow release of these games is already a widely criticized topic, we do not see how this news will go well with fans. Nintendo may save the game by offering more games each time, but it is unlikely that this method will attract regular subscribers only interested in offering retro games.
