Ubisoft Launches Uplay + Subscription Service, Immediate Issues - No latest game on offer

Just hours before the launch of Uplay +, Ubisoft removed the latest installment of the Anno series from the games catalog. Fortunately - only temporarily.

Ubisoft joined Microsoft and Electronic Arts today by launching a Uplay + (Plus) subscription service on PC. Priced at € 15 per month, Ubisoft offers access to all games on Uplay, with more than a hundred games on offer. However, the launch of the service did not go smoothly.

Customers immediately reported problems when paying for their subscription and pending authorization. Some also say Ubisoft also took their money to try the service for a month, which would otherwise be free. Problems also arose with the supply of games.

Specifically, the strategic title Anno 1800 disappeared from the catalog, though Ubisoft had earlier announced that the game would be available. This is the latest Ubisoft title on offer, so the situation is a little tricky. Fortunately, it is only a temporary unavailability of the game, as they say - due to technical difficulties. As soon as these issues are resolved, Anno 1800 should go back to the game catalog that you can access via Uplay + subscription.

Overall, it seems that Ubisoft was not ready for this kind of venture. In other words, they misjudged the interest of the players, which was obviously great given that they had been promised to play 100+ games for free for a full month.
