Rainbow Six Siege on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will be playing from day one

We have received confirmation of the highly anticipated announcement that Rainbow Six Siege will also be playing on next-generation consoles.

The Rainbow Six Siege tactical shooter has so far been played by more than 55 million players and that number is increasing month by month. With the transition to a new generation of consoles coming soon, Ubisoft wants to take this opportunity to attract even more interested players, so they have confirmed that they are already making concrete moves.

In a conversation with Windows Central, new game director Leroy Athanassof revealed that the team is already working on moving Siege to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Unofficially, this is a new piece of information that aims to make the game available to play from the first the day these consoles go on sale. In addition, they aim to have a tidy and cross-play option by that day so that player communities are no longer shared between the PlayStation and the Xbox.

It has also been confirmed that the PC platform will be omitted from the cross-play plans. Ubisoft believes that this would not be good for gaming because PC players would live on consoles for more precise controls.

Still, something else is planned - a cross-platform progression option. So, in the future, players will be able to switch progress from platform to platform, so if you start playing on a console and switching to a PC, then you don't have to start from scratch, just continue where you left off in the console version.
