Baldur's Gate 3 could play through Early Access this year

Hasbro, owner of publisher Wizards of the Coast, has announced that the long-awaited third sequel to the Baldur's Gate saga will be available in Early Access form this year.

Admittedly, the exact release dates of Steam Early Access and the official 1.0 versions are still being kept secret, but given the series of delays we've witnessed this year, it's clear why the publisher is not relegated to premature announcements.

For Larian Studios, the development studio working on this title, this practice is not new. Divinity: Original Sin and Divinity: Original Sin 2 originally came out as Early Access titles to be released full-year after a year. With that in mind, we can expect Baldur's Gate 3 next year. Although it is announced that the game will be a PC title, Divinity: Original Sin series games may have come to consoles, so we can hope that Baldur's Gate 3 will follow the same fate.

D&D fans have reason to be cheerful as Hasbro has revealed his plans for a games release until 2025. According to the above, we can expect at least one D&D game every year, and as many as 5 titles are currently under development. As early as this fall, we are expecting a multiplayer sofa titled Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, which, as we have already written, follows Drizzt Do'Urden on his adventures.

It is unknown if this figure also includes a new futuristic RPG title prepared by Archetype Entertainment, the newly founded studio behind Wizards of the Coast. It brings together veterans of the video game industry, led by James Ohlen, who was the lead designer behind titles such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, and Dragon Age: Origins, so we believe we have a good RPG games for the next 5 years will definitely not miss.

Hasbro expects a lot of profits from these titles, and according to their assumptions, the RPG market brings in $ 12 billion annually, and among fans of the genre, as many as 65% are familiar with the Dungeons & Dragons franchise.

Anyway, the gameplay of the premiere of the third installment of the Baldur's Gate series is coming soon, and if you're impatient like us, you know where you are on February 27 at 9:30 pm.
