The first PlayStation 4 game was launched using an emulator on a PC

An important step has been made in trying to emulate PS4 games on PC, but don't be too happy.

In the era of the PlayStation 2, PCs were able to enjoy games for the first PlayStation via PC emulators. Although the emulation of PS2 titles was more complex, the same was true during PlayStation 3. But today there is still no machine or emulator that emulates PlayStation 3 games for PC without problems, primarily due to the complicated hardware of that console. So the question is: what about emulating the PlayStation 4 console?

People say the day is known by the morning, and if so then the day has started as far as PS4 emulation is concerned. Namely, through an emulator called GPCS4, the first game was launched, which in itself is a great success, though not much to be rejoiced with. Specifically, we launched a very simple and demanding 2D game We Are Doomed that could be launched on a PC twenty years ago. In addition, running the game does not mean that it is fully playable.

Still, this is only the beginning, and each startup is said to be difficult. It will take a long time for the real emulation of PS4 games to live on the PC, but now we at least know that it is working. The GPCS4 emulator creator plans to launch Nier: Automata in the next venture.
