The Virtual Assistant on PlayStation 5 could persuade you to spend your money
It is quite likely that the PlayStation 5 console will have some form of virtual assistant, and one recent application reveals a recent patent.
Last year, we learned about the patented name “PlayStation Assist” and the appearance of a virtual assistant that would come with the PlayStation 5 console. This assistant should share game tips to players if they ask for it, either on the TV itself or through a separate app on their mobile device. Further evidence that Sony is considering this idea is a new patent application for a system that would sell a player a solution to his "problems".
Specifically, the attached illustration clearly shows how this would work. The player queries the microphone of the controller by voice, and the console recognizes this and finds the answer online and presents it to the player. For example, "80% of players defeated this opponent using resource X". The player then gets the option to buy the proposed resource immediately, and as is the case with some games - such purchases are made with real money.
This could give microtransactions a new dimension. For example, a player would no longer make the conclusions that he needed to be successful in the game, but would be advised by his virtual assistant.
Of course, this would not be the sole purpose of the virtual assistant, and we are sure that recommending microtransactions would be an option that could be ruled out. But none of this has been confirmed, nor is the fact that the PlayStation Assista is coming. But as soon as there are two similar patents, the thing is crystal clear, if you ask us.
