It seems that Stalker 2 could be exclusive to the Epic Games Store

We haven't heard anything about Stalker 2 for a long time, but today we learned what engine it was developing. And that immediately brought up a popular question…

We have been waiting for Stalker 2 since 2010 when it was originally announced, only to be canceled a few years later. But two years ago, we received a new announcement and confirmation that the eagerly awaited sequel is definitely coming. It was announced then, and we can expect it in 2021, which comfortably places it in the (he-he) zone of the next generation of consoles, so expectations are high on the game's graphics.

The GSC GameWorld development studio didn't give us too much credit for fresh game information, we guess we'll get more of this this year, but we've just received confirmation from the game's Unreal Engine.

Of course, this is an engine owned by Epic Games, a team that has been aggressively buying exclusivity lately and building an online store that rivals existing platforms like Steam. High-budget and eagerly awaited editions like the new Stalker might be particularly appealing to them as more people are on the line, so the question is - will Stalker 2 be exclusive to the Epic Games Store?

We still have no answer to this question, but GSC Game World is aware that this question will be on everyone's mind when the engine is discovered. They said, therefore, that discovering the engine on which Stalker was developing had nothing to do with the platforms or digital stores where the game would be available. "We'll talk about it later," they say.

The villains might say that "we'll talk about it later" sounds a bit like "give us more time for the PR department to figure out how to tell you that Epic Games Store is exclusive without going crazy."
