Honk honk, the Untitled Goose Game has been sold in over a million copies
Is the Untitled Goose Game sequel coming? Now that we know the game has exceeded a million copies sold, anything is possible.
The Untitled Goose Game is one of those warm, indie gaming stories we simply love to write about. That cute and witty game about an irritating goose is just the second title of a small development studio called House House in Australia (with just four employees), which obviously has a slightly different, relaxed and slightly tricky approach to game development.
The story goes that the guys at the House House studio didn't know what to call the game when they were given the opportunity to present a gameplay video for the first time at a conference in the early stages of development, so they simply wrote "Untiteld Goose Game" with a .mp4 video file. In the end, they decided to launch it with that title. Because why not?
Three months later, they sold over one million copies.
This impressive figure was revealed to us these days by Cabel Sasser of Panic, the publishing company that marketed the Untitled Goose Game.
The game was released in the 9th month of 2019 for the Nintendo Switch and PC, and it only came to PS4 and Xbox One consoles in the middle of the 12th month. It's also available through Xbox Game Pass, but the number of millions of copies sold has nothing to do with it.
