Doom Eternal is only going strong, it will have no microtransactions

Creative director of the Doom International has appeased fans of the series, revealing that progress in the game will not be able to buy with money.

There is no need to fear that the multiplayer component of the upcoming Doom Eternal might be attacked by dark microtransactions. Game creative director Hugo Martin commented on Facebook confirming that no progress in the game could be bought with money. Moreover, there will be no virtual currency or some in-game trading.

Fans will say that Doom, like an old-fashioned shooter, looks like this. The same was true of the 2016 reboot, which also did not go astray in the realm of microtransactions. However, today we are never 100% sure about this, as it has been shown on several occasions that publishers promise to deliver one and the other after the game has been released. Bethesda Publishing thus claimed that their Fallout 76 would not have pay-to-win elements to sell items that give players an edge over others half a year later.
