English is no longer the most commonly used language on Steam
According to a survey conducted in the 12th month of 2019, the largest number of users use Steam in Chinese.
The most popular PC gaming platform can be used in 28 different languages. Of course, English is standard and has been used by more than a third of Steam users so far. However, according to the results of an official survey conducted during the 12th month of 2019, English on Steam dropped to second place with 30.4% of users.
If statistics are to be believed, Chinese is now the most widely used language on Steam, meaning a simplified Chinese script is used by 37.8% of users.
PC Gamer points out that surveys on Steam are not always reliable, and since this is an extremely large increase of 14.4% in a month, there may be some technical error. At the same time, it is possible that the statistics are correct as the number of Steam users in China is steadily increasing, and more and more games are being produced in China on Steam.
