Age of Empires 3 is definitely preparing for the Definitive Edition

The last promised remake of the Age of Empires series will be available for testing starting next month, Microsoft announced.

Fans of the Age of Empires series were fulfilled last year - they received a remaster of the most popular games in the series, Age of Empires 2, and a first look at the anticipated sequel, Age of Empires 4. There is no great excitement about the third part remaster, but it will still happen. The first steps will be taken next month when beta testing begins.

To access Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition testing, you must be in the Insider program and have a strong enough computer, which includes the following: 8 GB of working memory, 2 GB of video memory, and Windows 10. The testing will be gradual and will take place in it over time, more players will be invited. Small parts of the campaign and a significant portion of multiplayer will be tested. The beta will also run on Steam and the Microsoft Store.

It is not known yet what new features this remaster will bring, but it is clear that graphically it will not make as much leap as the previous two "definitive" editions of Age of Empires games. The trio looked nice in their time, but simplifications in gameplay turned off some fans of the series.
