Torchlight 3 has been announced and will not be free

Torchlight Frontiers, a headline announced back in 2018 no longer exists under that name but is now called Torchlight 3.

Before we announced the announcements of Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2, the 2018 Torchlight Frontiers was still announced. This title should move a little further from the formula of previous games in its series and offer a dynamic, online world that players share with one another. However, there will be nothing in the end. Well, that's a little wrong to say - there will be something, and that something will be called Torchlight 3.

In addition to the name Torchlight Frontiers being renamed Torchlight 3, the Arc Games development team said the game will be a premium title, which means it won't be free-to-play as planned. But they say the good thing is that players will be able to choose for themselves how they want to play the game, which includes playing offline.

They hope that this will bring the game closer to the roots of previous games and that it will be the right sequel to what fans are expecting. Microtransactions have been dropped from the plan for this purpose and the game will be sold on Steam. Torchlight 3 will also have a nudity structure like previous games, most zones in the world will be private by default, and the horizontal progression format removed in favor of a proven system from the original Torchlight games.

In the end, it was decided that the game would first be developed through the PC version, which will reach the early access phase during 2020, while the console versions will follow later.
