The Call of Duty franchise has cumulatively played over 25 billion hours

Like it or hate it, Call of Duty is one of the most played and influential franchises in the world, and its popularity is ultimately positive for anyone called a gamer.

The Call of Duty franchise was launched in 2003 with the game of the same name. Since then, we've played 16 more different Call of Duty titles across generations of consoles and mobile devices. This fact already tells us a little about the popularity of the franchise, but it is only when we look at how much time players have spent playing them that we come to the real picture.

An impressive 25 billion hours, or 2.85 million years, goes beyond the existence of humanity on planet earth. More impressively, allocating that figure to all living people today would mean everyone played Call of Duty for at least 3 1/2 hours. Even your grandmother! Whether you like Call of Duty as a franchise or not, this achievement has far-reaching positive effects on the entire gaming industry.

Going beyond the original medium means that people with only a passing interest in gaming have heard of COD. This has contributed to the popularity of games in general, so you are no longer viewed in our region if you publicly declare that you are a gamer. If in just 20 years we have come from the above that gaming is a very influential and by far the most profitable branch of the entertainment industry - what lies ahead in the next 20?
