Rainbow Six Siege will become faster in the PC version with Vulcan API support

Ubisoft has announced that the next update to Rainbow Six Siege in the PC version of the game will bring support for the Vulcan API.

If your computer is struggling with running Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft may have good news for you. From the next game update, PC users will be able to choose between running in DirectX 11 mode so far and the new Vulkan API. The game will receive dynamic texture indexing, dynamic resolution and AsyncCompute technique on the PC.

In translation, playing Rainbow Six Siege via the Vulkan API will bring some processor load, that is, more stable performance and more frames per second, in some scenarios. Of course, it all depends on your hardware, and what the user can do to be ready for the Vulkan API is to update the graphics card drivers to the most revised version.

Ubisoft also notes that this will be the first time they've tested the Vulcan on a wider range of hardware, so some users may find it perform worse, but that should be smoothed over time. As things stand now, Ubisoft switched all their efforts to the Vulcan API, which means that they have crossed DirectX 12. One potential reason for this is the very likely launch of Rainbow Six Siege on the Google Stadia platform, which also uses the Vulkan API .
