Valve has reason to celebrate, Counter Strike: GO has set a new record of its own again

An eight-year-old game has been gaining in popularity lately and is breaking down month by month. Is the coronavirus the culprit?

This weekend, Ark: Survival Evolved set its own record for the number of active players at the same time. However, this is largely due to the fact that it was a free weekend so everyone could try dinosaur hunting. Last month, 19,107,803 people reported on Steam, while the popular FPS Counter Strike: Global Offensive played to 901,000 users.

The first day of the third month also broke that record. 924,045 players have played the game in the last 24 hours, which is almost 24 thousand more than the previous number. It didn't take the Global Offensive long to break the old one and set a new record, unlike the other month. Then the record was set, and the same had to be expected from 2016. While the exact reason for the game's increasing popularity is unknown, it is believed to come from Chinese players who must stay inside their homes due to a coronavirus outbreak.

Still, not everyone is full of merriment. One of the most famous competitions in Counter Strike: Global Offensive by IEM Katowice took place without audience presence. The reason - caution about everyone already known virus. However, half a million viewers could not prevent any virus from engaging in live streaming through official Twitch channels.

From Valve I can certainly be pleased with this information. It doesn't happen every year that in less than a month, they break a few records on their own platform. Even when we add to this the newly released records of CS: GO, which is owned by the company mentioned above, we believe that Gabe Newell is turning around in his office out of luck and playing a small violin like the cancer from Sponge Bob.
