NBA 2K20 has a segment that simulates NBA league games on the current schedule. But it only works when the current schedule exists.
Numerous sports competitions have been canceled to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and this has left an unexpected impact on the NBA 2K20 video game. Specifically, the title in its MyLeague mode has an NBA Today feature that allows the games in the game to be played according to the actual schedule of NBA games.
However, as the NBA season is canceled and that schedule no longer exists, the NBA 2K20 simply gets lost in that segment, and the game itself collapses.
It is likely that developers will patch it up as soon as possible, but so far they have not yet announced it. Fortunately for the players, this problem is only isolated in MyLeague mode and does not prevent players from accessing the rest of the game, at least for now. Something similar happened at the beginning of the year in WWE 2K20, not just as a result of the coronavirus, but because of a bizarre bug created because the game wasn't ready to change the calendar year.
Interestingly, after the cancellation of the rest of the NBA season, the Phoenix Suns team turned to NBA 2K20. As they say, for them the season is not over yet, but they will continue to play matches inside the game, and they will broadcast all this on Twitch.
