Ubisoft celebrates, Rainbow Six Siege breaks its own record on Steam

The French company may be pleased with the progress of its currently most popular multiplayer game, which has twice set a new record in the number of active players in a month.

Rainbow Six Siege multiplayer follows in the footsteps of Counter Strike: Global Offensive. Valve's shooter broke two records in a month, and now Ubisoft's FPS has done the same. More specifically, in two weeks, a new record was broken and a new record was set.

According to data from SteamCharts, Rainbow Six Siege has played 186,949 players in the last 24 hours on Steam. In doing so, this tactical shooter set a new record of its own for the number of active users. The previous figure was 180,463, an improvement of nearly six and a half thousand. Of course, the console data and Uplay and Epic Games Launcher are not included here.

Still, it should be noted that this record was a godsend for a free weekend of gaming. It lasted from 5 to 8 March, so anyone who had never played it before could try it. As far as our area is concerned, free play is available for another 10 hours at the time of writing this news.

The aforementioned first-person shooter can be purchased for 60% off Valve's platform by the 26th of this month. This includes only the basic edition of the game. Most DLCs are free, with only cosmetic items paid for.

It's a matter of time before Rainbow Six Siege breaks through the figure of 200,000 active users on Steam. Ubisoft's policies obviously fall short because after every free weekend, the R6 Siege gains in popularity. The new season arrives tomorrow, with two operatives and a reworked Oregon map.
