Half-Life: Alyx in the first gameplay preview really looks like the first high-budget VR title

Valve shared about ten minutes of gameplay from Half-Life: Alyx, enough to appeal to anyone who doesn't have a VR device to play the game.

One of the funniest things about VR games is experimenting with and researching whether a game is designed to respond to your stupidity. It is important to me, for example, that such a reaction exists in VR games because if it does not exist then I am not completely bought into the idea that I am “really in the game”.

Here's an example: in VR games, I always get into facial characters, and try to do something with interactive objects. A good portion of VR games, or at least standard VR games, do not have this interactivity, so your hands go through objects, tables, walls, etc. The other part of VR games allows you to take items, but the reaction of the characters is when you approach them. almost none.

Why do I mention this? Well, I'm glad to see that Half-Life: Alyx is a complete VR game in this regard. In the new gameplay footage that Valve has launched, we can thus see the interaction with the environment and even the enemies we previously eliminate. This is an important thing for this game because it creates the mechanics of gameplay. For example, piling on a bunch of things is not purely for the sake of fore, but you need to discern between unnecessary what can be of use to you.

Some may say that these are unnecessary things in some shooter because who wants to lift the toilet lid to pick up ammunition. I understand that point, but I also accept that Half-Life: Alyx is an attempt to expand what we consider to be a first-person shooter. Things like dodging cover and throwing grenades are completely different experiences here. It may still look unrefined due to the movement system, it may seem like gameplay has slowed down, but one thing to admit to the Valve team: it took courage (and craziness) to make one like this.
